How to Make Your Wax Melts Last Longer: Tips for a Better Scent Experience!

Fallen in love with wax melts? We don’t blame you. Filling your home with scent is such a simple joy — and with a few quick tips, you can make each melt last longer and smell even better.

Here’s how to get the most from your melts.

1. Use the Right Wax Burner

The type of burner you use makes a big difference. If it gets too hot, it can burn off the fragrance too quickly. If it’s too cool, the wax may not melt properly at all.

Here at Vashti Aromas, tealight warmers are our favourite way to enjoy wax melts — we always use unscented 4-hour tealights to ensure a clean, gentle melt and to avoid mixing fragrances. There’s something about that soft, flickering glow that feels so cosy and comforting. We also have a select few tealight burners available on our website if you’re looking for one. Prefer something flameless? An electric burner on a low to medium heat works beautifully too.

2. Don’t Overfill

One or two wax melt segments are usually enough. Overfilling the dish won’t give you a stronger scent — it just makes things messier.

Start small, and add more only if you need to.

3. Let It Fully Melt

Don’t rush it — the scent really kicks in once the wax has fully melted into a pool. That usually takes around 30 to 60 minutes. If you blow out your tealight too soon, you might miss the best part.

4. Store Melts Well

Heat, light and air can all fade fragrance. Keep your melts in their original packaging or an airtight container, in a cool, dry place. That way, they stay fresh and full of scent until you’re ready to use them.

5. Know When It’s Time for a Change

Soy wax doesn’t evaporate like a candle — so even when the wax is still there, the fragrance may have faded. When that happens, let it cool and gently remove it before popping in something new.

Tried & Loved: Cashmere Bloom

Our signature scent, Cashmere Bloom, is a beautiful mix of soft florals, creamy vanilla and warm amber. It’s the kind of scent that makes your home feel instantly inviting.
